While reviewing trades in Atlantis, you may need additional information regarding the Docs agreement to which the trades are attached or should be matched. All Atlantis users – regardless of whether or not they have Docs access – can view basic information about the agreement using the Agreements tab.
You can access the tab by clicking “Agreements”, found between the “Summary” tab and the Cycle Lock indicators.
Use the search fields to locate the relevant agreements.
After searching, you can view basic information about the Agreements, including the Participants, Trader info, Execution State, Agreement Type, Effective and Termination Dates, and more. You can also pull this information down by either choosing “Download Grid” or “Download Details to Excel”.
If you also have access to Docs, you can use the hyperlink on the Agreement ID to quickly open the full agreement in Docs.
Use Case
Searching for all agreements associated with a given Atlantis Participant
A single Atlantis Participant may be linked with multiple Docs Parties. An Atlantis user may want to search for all agreements that could be a probable match on a given set of trades. Applying a filter on Party name on the Docs search page allows searching for agreements with a single party only. An Atlantis user can search using the Executing/Clearing Broker criteria using Atlantis Participant Code. The 'Agreements’ page on Atlantis will show agreements with all Docs Parties that are linked to the given Atlantis Participant Code.
Trades with Fee Calc Failure Reason ‘No agreement found’
Atlantis trades will not match to a Docs agreement due to the following reasons:
- There is no existing agreement for the given Participants
- No agreement was found based on the agreement matching criteria
- Trade Date
- Clearing Account
- Clearing Broker
- Executing Broker
It is possible to find the issue and/or identify the agreement that could be a possible match to the trade using the Agreement search page on Atlantis.
If the agreement did not match to the trade due to the trade date not being within the effective period of the agreement
It is possible that an agreement is existing on Docs with the relevant Brokers and Clearing account. However, the agreement has not matched the trade as the trade date is not within the effective period of the agreement.
To find such an agreement, use the following criteria on the Agreements page on Atlantis:
- Clearing Broker: Search using the Pay Participant Code of the clearing broker on the Atlantis trade
- Executing Broker: Search using the Receiver Participant Code of the Executing broker on the Atlantis trade
- Clearing account: Search for the clearing account on the Atlantis trade
Investigate the agreements that may reflect based on the above search to identify an agreement that can be used to match the given trades
If the agreement did not match to the trade due to the clearing account on the trade date not being on the agreement
It is possible that an agreement is existing on Docs with the relevant Brokers and trade date being within the effective period of the agreement. However, the agreement has not matched the trade as the clearing account on Atlantis trade date is not listed on the agreement.
To find such an agreement, use the following criteria on the Agreements page on Atlantis:
- Clearing Account: Search for the clearing account on the trade. You may find a set of agreement associated with a particular client (Customer/Trader). This may help identify to which client the clearing account is associated with.
- Once done, clear the search criteria and begin a new search and use the below search criteria
- Customer/Trader: Search using the client name identified in the search above using the clearing account
- Clearing Broker: Search using the Pay Participant Code of the clearing broker on the Atlantis trade
- Executing Broker: Search using the Receiver Participant Code of the Executing broker on the Atlantis trade
Investigate the agreements that may reflect based on the above search to identify an agreement that can be used to match the given trades. If it is found that an agreement is missing the given clearing account, request the clearing broker to add the clearing account to the agreement.
Note: If agreements are not found using either of the above search criteria, it may be possible that there is no agreement in Docs that can be used for the given trades. In such an instance, work with all the parties to the trade to raise a give-up agreement.
