Overview
The Docs Product Report is a comprehensive list all of the exchanges and products currently available for addition to electronic rate schedules (eModules) in Docs. It may be accessed from any page in Docs by selecting "Product Report" in the bottom banner in black that runs across all screens within Docs.
Product Data
The product report contains the following data for each product available in Docs:
- Region: region of the exchange
- Exchange Code: Docs exchange code
- Product Group: Docs product group
- Product Code: exchange clearing code
- Product Name: name of product
- Currency: currency which the product is traded in. Note that this traded-in product currency is also used to auto-populate the brokerage currency field when the product is added to a rate schedule, however firms should change the brokerage currency on their rate schedule as needed.
- Product Type: instrument type (future, option, etc.)
The data found in the product report also populates in the eModule. Any product available in the product report will be available to you in the eModule to create a new rate schedule.
Finding Products within the Product Report
Since the Product Report is a file downloaded from the internet, depending on your version of Excel, you may need to 'Enable Editing' and 'Enable Content', through the yellow bar at the top of the page.
The easiest way to navigate the report is to use the filter tool built into Excel. Filters in Excel allow you to easily isolate a subset of the data in order to quickly find what you are looking for. To enable filters in the report, highlight the header row, select 'Sort & Filter' from the top ribbon at the top of the page, and then select 'Filter' (outlined in red below). This will add a drop-down selection to each column header.
To filter by a specific header, click on the down arrow to expand the search menu, and either begin typing into the search field, or deselect the '(Select All)' box and choose the desired options from the list.
For example, to display all dairy products available in Docs on the CME exchange, you may first filter by the Exchange Code 'CME', and then filter down to all dairy products by entering "Dairy" into the search field.
Clearing Filter(s)
To clear your filters, select the column(s) that have the filter icon in the header, and then select 'Clear Filter From "...."" (as shown below).
Requesting Addition of new Products
If you are unable to find a specific product in the report, you can request it using the the attached form. Submit your request by emailing the completed form along with any supplemental documentation to docs.support@fia-tech.com. Products are reviewed for accuracy and updated in batches within Docs. Currently, FIA Tech adds and updates products in Docs every two weeks according to the Docs release schedule. Product additions and updates will be included in the release notes distributed every two weeks. Firms will want to download a new eModule after each release to insure that their eModule always contains the most recent product reference data.
