Monthly Invoice Overview
FIA Tech bills Atlantis firms on a monthly basis as per pricing dictated on our website. Each monthly invoice consists of several billable categories:
Billable EB/CB Contracts Settled per Trade Year
This charge relates to the amount of Billable Contracts settled in the settlement cycle. FIA Tech charges a per contract fee of $0.015 USD, which applies to both executing and clearing sides of trades based on the number of Billable Contracts. Billable Contracts is the number of lots or contracts included in each trade processed in the system which matches an agreement and settles in each monthly processing cycle, with the following exceptions:
- Trades which match agreements where either the receiving broker or paying broker are not a participant who settles in Atlantis
- Intrafirm give-ups (give-ups where the executing broker and clearing broker represent the same participant) are not charged fees to either broker
- Zero Fees contracts are free for executing brokers if settled within the first three months of their trade month. Executing brokers are not charged for trades that match and settle providing the executing broker affirms that zero fees are due to them or another party.
Maintenance Fees
To allow for continued on-platform settlement, trades will be retained in Atlantis until settled. Beginning in the October 2018 Settlement Cycle, a Maintenance Fee of $0.001 per lot will be charged to the Responsible Party for unsettled trades older than 12 months. More information regarding this fee can be found on our website.
Bulk Settlement Fees
A Bulk Settlement Service is offered by FIA Tech to help firms clear the remainder of the aged, unsettled backlog in Atlantis. More information regarding this fee can be found on our website.
Monthly Invoice Trade Breakout
In order to reconcile the FIA Tech invoice to trade details, firms will need to use their Final Trade CSV file and a combination of Excel pivot tables. Here are the steps to reconcile each billable category.
Billable EB/CB Contracts Settled per Trade Year Reconciliation Process
1. Firms will need to pull a copy of their Legacy Final Trade CSV (<Participant Code>_LEGACY_FINAL_TRADE_YYYYMMDD.csv) which is available in the Notifications screen.
- These files are created the day after the Payer Lock each Settlement Cycle. The report shows the final settlement status of all Atlantis trades for the Participant in the current settlement cycle at the individual trade level
2. Open the file in Excel and insert a Pivot Table
3. To tie out to the Billable EB/CB Contracts Settled a pivot table has to be created for each individual trade year.
Billable EB Contracts Settled:
- Add the following fields to the "Filter" of the pivot table:
- Drop in "CarryExchCode" into the "Rows" and "Quantity" into the "Sum of Values" fields of Pivot Table Fields
- Once the Pivot Table is created, adjust the Filters as follows:
- Record Type = "TE"
- TradeDate =(all)
- GiveUpAmt = Select ALL except "0"
- ErrorInd = (blank)
- RateType = (all)
Sample finished Pivot Table for Billable EB Contracts Settled:
- The resulting table will provide information of Billable EB contracts that settled as part of that billable year except for zero fee contracts that are settled post the first 3 trade months. In order to capture these contracts, a second pivot table needs to be created as follows:
- Record Type = "TE"
- TradeDate = Select Dates applicable to that billing year as follows:
- 2017 Billable Trade Dates = Apr 1, 2017 - Nov 30, 2017
- 2018 Billable Trade Dates = Dec 1, 2017 - Nov 30, 2018
- 2019 Billable Trade Dates = Dec 1, 2018 - Nov 30, 2019
- 2020 Billable Trade Dates = Dec 1, 2019 - Nov 30, 2020
- 2021 Billable Trade Dates = Dec 1, 2020 - Nov 30, 2021
- 2022 Billable Trade Dates = Dec 1, 2021 - Nov 30, 2022
- 2023 Billable Trade Dates = Dec 1, 2022 - trade month 3 months prior to the current trade month
- GiveUpAmt = 0
- ErrorInd = (blank)
- RateType = For 2023 invoices onward = ALL
For 2022 and earlier = (O) (not zero, the letter O) - (If you want to specifically see trades that were part of bulk settlements, add): AgreementNum = (blank)
Sample finished Pivot Table for Billable EB Contracts Settled at zero post first 3 trade months:
The sum of the Quantity on both pivot tables should equal the total of Billable EB Contracts Settled in that billable year.
Billable CB Contracts Settled:
- Add the following fields to the "Filter" of the pivot table:
- Drop in "CarryExchCode" into the "Rows" and "Quantity" into the "Sum of Values" fields of Pivot Table Fields
- Once the Pivot Table is created, adjust the Filters as follows:
- Record Type = "TC"
- TradeDate = (Trades with relevant year)
- GiveUpAmt = (all)
- ErrorInd = (blank)
- RateType = (all)
