Introduction
The Global Keyword Search is found within the Product Query Tool (PQT).
This feature allows the user to search the entire product reference data for up to three specific keywords. The tool searches the Region, Exchange, Product Group, Product, and Currency fields for the keywords.
Logical Connector
The Product Query Tool includes a Logical Connector which is used for specific Product Queries, and this is used for the Global Keyword Search as well.
- Logical Connector: OR
The Logical Connector of “OR” matches if ANY keyword appears in ANY product record.
- Logical Connector: AND
The Logical Connector of “AND” matches if ALL keywords appear in a SINGLE product record.
Enter Search Words (Up to 3)
The Global Keyword Search uses the current AND/OR logical as in on the PQT form, and will prompt for up to 3 keywords.
The examples below include the keywords of “SOYBEAN”, “WHEAT”, and “MILK”, with a logical connector of “OR”.
Note: The Global Keyword Search will allow users to search up to 3 keywords. If fewer than 3 keywords are being established, the text field for the remaining keyword(s) can be left blank, and the OK button can be selected.
Global Keyword Search Results
- Copy Matching Products into the eModule
The search window displays the total number of matching products that will be copied, and identifies the exact rows within the eModule where the results will be appended. Clicking “OK” will append the results to the eModule directly.
Clicking the OK button will close the PQT and display the eModule, where the product data has been appended.
Note: Due to the structure of the data, which can cover multiple Exchanges and Product Groups, the results of the Global Keyword Search are not able to be reviewed prior to appending. This process differs from other Product Query Tool searches.
However, the user is able to delete individual product rate lines that may have been captured in the query, but are ultimately not required within the rate schedule.
